Gonggong

Gonggong

Moon: Xiangliu

Once the original home to the boxing federation, Gonggong has evolved into a complex patchwork of locales. This red planet has a biodome suspended within the bounds of it's web-like latticework of roads connecting businesses and residential areas alike. Pincer mechs are a common mean of transport, comparable to the cars of Ganymede, Pincers are seen as almost a mascot of Gonggong.

In the late 2500's a team of Martian scientists setup base on Gonggong hoping to create a biodome that could sustain life. This planet is not only one of the most remote, but also one of the coldest surfaces in the system, which provided many difficulties in building and maintaining habitable areas. The idea was shared a few decades after setting foot: to setup a complex network of heated roads and cables that would lock in some heat, allowing more stable living conditions. Within a few years this concept was approved and came to be what we now know it as.

The boxing federation initially chose this location as it was out of bounds of the Monmatia PD and the cold weather provided harsher training conditions for the combatants, who ended up growing fond of the grueling conditions. With public security focus shifting to bounty hunter guilds, the boxing federation no longer found a need to stay so far from the rest of the system and moved to Dione, drastically increasing the amount of people able to attend the matches.
