Beginning on earth after the fall of the shogun, several Ronin came together to form a team to help locals affected by the collapse of their civilization they once knew as home. They opened restaurants, theaters, and most popular, gambling operations. Over time different families within this coalition began getting more money than others, however they were always all about community uplifting. This group then known as Spring Lotus had single handedly helped their local government get back on track post war.

After a few generations past, some of the different families involved began working on projects that would benefits them more personally, some of the families did not like this and a decade of unrest within the community began out of these tensions. Eventually the Spring Lotus was disbanded and two new groups were formed; Lotus and Kazoku. Lotus' values were based in uplifting their community and maintaining peaceful relations, while Kazoku was purely family focused and wanted to get back to upholding the power of their bloodline. After a few decades of skirmishes the Lotus' forces were almost entirely wipes out and rival groups to the Kazoku were rapidly multiplying, as each family was finding it more important to represent themselves and keep themselves safe. As the Kazoku ideals were forcefully pushed on this community more were targeting them specifically, with their demise seeming eventual.

With a lot of the local families emigrating, and others disappearing entirely they were again looking into the barrel of the collapse of their community. In the fire a new coalition rose calling themselves the Iron Lotus.

This new Lotus claimed to be for the original values of the Spring Lotus however, they wanted their community to expand and to see a better future than the one that has been consistently unfolding before them these past few decades. The Iron Lotus made the decision to start anew on Saturn, a currently uninhabited, newly livable planet. The leader of this new regime Taka Nobura has a very large inheritance and has been able to multiply it in his few years preceding the foundation of Iron Lotus. With these finances he was able to make a lot of connections (and some enemies) along the way. After establishing a very successful presence in the system with gambling rings, body guarding, black market trades, and strike operations Taka passed the torch to his oldest son Ha Nobura.
