In 2293 a celestial peace group hired an entire planets population of mole people who happily agreed to help hollow out the planets core and establish a strong infrastructure. Mercury also houses a solar powered freight and travel train, allowing the citizens to get from city to city with ease.

Demons inhabited Mercury roughly 400 years ago, They've had few power struggles and maintain a monarchic government that's shown only promise thus far.
