Moon: Dysmonia

Very large ocean masses scattered with dense fog clouds and sharp land masses protruding from the core. This planet was initially inhabited by a group of dwarves who left Pluto in hopes of finding somewhere populated with things other than just forges and hot springs. As they travelled they stumbled upon a derelict ship in the wreckage of a warground in the belt of Kelt 9-B. This ship had no signs of any life or death, no chairs tables or amenities, just baren, besides what looked like a door at the end of the hall. Upon inspection the door opened sideways revealing what looked to be a portal on the other side. At the same time a holgraphic dial appeared next to this portal, with a number: 2701. Odd, that was the year this discoverery was made. They turned the dial, and saw the image of the portal shift with the numbers. One of them said they'd try walking through. Someone recommended to wait, as it might be better to take this somewhere safer to experiment. This insane of a find needed to be contained if it was what they thought it was. If the others on Pluto got ahold of this who knows what would happen in the wrong hands. This already close group swore secrecy, loaded every piece they could find of the wreck, and loaded it on their freighter, bringing it safely the uncharted surface.

As they made contact with Eris, scans were showing no life, and a world tree just beginning to take form. They created their own biodome for the planet in a few months, and buried the wreckage they found within the core of the planet with a near impenetrable security system. Upon further examination the group decided safe ways to sue this device without causing any paradoxes and decided the only thing to due was continue conducting their private research in labs within the core, while life could continue and thrive on the surface.
